As the sole owner of the Group, we stand out from our competitors in the agricultural sector because of our flexibility, our quick response to change and our open approach to new opportunities.
With an experienced team in place, we have decided to venture into new areas and develop three major projects. We are currently in the process of designing a deep grain processing plant, constructing one of the largest and most modern farms in the European Union, and designing three wind farms on land owned by the Group.
So far, we have been successful in all our businesses independently, but this year we have decided to open our doors to strategic investors.
Our experience, strong relationships and synergies with existing businesses will open the door to strategic markets and ensure sustainable growth, stable profitability and a competitive advantage to maximise market opportunities and achieve long-term success.
Deep grain processing
The Agrokoncernas Group owns 14 agricultural production companies involved in crop and livestock farming. Together, we own 28,000 hectares of land.
Group company Agrokoncerno Grūdai buys and exports over 1.5 million tonnes of grain per year. This represents about 20% of the country’s total harvest. In total, the company can store over 800,000 tonnes of grain at any one time.
In order to exploit the potential of the Group’s companies, it was decided to develop a new promising deep grain processing project. Agrokoncernas GDP is responsible for the development and operation of the deep grain processing plant.
The cereals will be used to produce two main products, starch and gluten, as well as by-products such as bioethanol and biofertilisers. The possibilities for further processing of these main products are being explored.
The plant will also incorporate biomethane production solutions to optimise energy costs and support the Green Deal.
The highest equipment quality and efficiency will be ensured by major technology suppliers such as Bühler of Switzerland, Flottweg of Germany, SiccaDania of Denmark, Interis of France and Biotechnika of Poland, among others.
The first plant is expected to be operational in 2027.
With a strategic partner, the project is expected to develop one of the most modern and competitive deep grain processing centres in the world.
Another project being developed by Agrokoncernas Group is the construction of Europe’s largest and most modern dairy cow complex, which started in the spring of 2024. Buildings constructed over an area of 8 hectares will be used to breed almost 10,000 cattle, including 4,000 dairy cows. The herd will consist of dairy cattle of the highly productive Holstein-Friesian breed.
The total area of the cow farm complex will be 53 hectares. The daily production of raw milk in this complex is expected to exceed 140 tonnes with annual production to exceed 51,000 tonnes.
The Group’s dairy farms currently have around 4,000 dairy cows.
The construction of four more complexes, with existing cow herds, would result in the production of up to 800 tonnes of raw milk per day. The cow farm complex, with new integrated technological solutions, will start operation at the beginning of 2026.
The Group is looking for a strategic partner for this project who is interested in investing in high-quality milk production and dairy products.
Wind farms
The Group’s subsidiary Agrokoncerno Žalioji Energija has designed three wind farms on its own land with a total capacity of 700-800 MW.
The largest wind farm is designed to concentrate 500 MW of wind power within a 30-km radius. This makes it an energy island without a connection to the main grid, while the low cost of electricity generation allows for competitive production of green hydro, ammonia and/or methanol.
The Group is looking for a strategic partner to contribute to the development of this portfolio of energy projects.
Minimum requirements for Agrokoncernas Group project investors:
• A solid financial track record and industry reputation/experience.
• Financing type – direct investment (project financing).
• Long-term successful exposure to supply chain down-stream.
