Dr. Juergen Balles, CEO Labor LS’s team of over 600 highly skilled professionals maintain strict adherence to GMP standards across every project. Beyond routine analysis, Labor LS offers specialised services such as disinfectant testing and stability testing, showcasing its expertise and versatility.
Labor LS’s capabilities were prominently showcased during Germany’s pandemic readiness program, where the company played a crucial role in supporting vaccine manufacturers. Labor LS helped to qualify the new production lines and conducted extensive qualification testing, including on-site services and thorough testing of samples for the qualification steps of water systems and clean rooms.
The centralised operations in Germany allow Labor LS to maintain all expertise under one roof, creating a one-stop-shop experience for quality control (QC) analyses in GMP conditions. The company is particularly renowned for its expertise in specialised tests such as container closure integrity tests and low endotoxin recovery, which require a high level of capability not readily available elsewhere.
Expanding its reach beyond Germany, the contract laboratory now serves over 650 active clients and has earned quality approval from international authorities, including the FDA. This global recognition underscores the company’s commitment to excellence.
In daily operations, Labor LS faces the primary challenge of maintaining a sufficient workforce to meet all customer requirements. To address this, the company has established an education program modelled after the German system for training specialists. Around 45 individuals have enrolled in this program, ensuring a steady stream of qualified specialists. Processing over 1,000 samples daily, this initiative is a critical component of Labor LS’s strategy.

A growing area of focus for Labor LS is mycoplasma testing and the analysis required for new RNA and DNA-based vaccines. These cutting-edge fields demand sophisticated methodologies and substantial expertise. To meet these needs, Labor LS has established advanced techniques in its lab, such as the monocyte activation test, which has become the standard replacement for rabbit pyrogen tests in Europe. Its highly skilled experts navigate these specific and complex challenges, further enhancing this specialisation.
With a steadfast promise to innovation, precision and client success, Labor LS not only meets but exceeds industry standards. Its strategic foresight and ability to adapt to emerging scientific advancements ensure that it remains at the cutting edge of the pharmaceutical industry.
